Who Cares? God Cares!

Who cares!!! It’s a phrase that every one of us has probably used at one time or another. Frustration, worry, anxiety and even anger are usually the emotions that we are feeling when we say it. Rebellion against authority and apathy towards certain situations definitely apply to the “who cares!!!” crowd too.

Often times when we say it with those kind of emotions it is with 100% sarcasm and an answer is the last thing we’re looking for. But what about when the sarcastic “who cares!!! attitude turns into a “who cares???” question? Most of us have probably been there too. We all face pressures. We have our problems. We may think no one cares at all. But we all have someone who cares whether we realize it or not.

When young people are facing different pressures ranging from problems at school to problems at home and they feel like their heart is about to crack…remember, God cares.

When you face the temptation to sin so you can fit in and when you feel like an outcast because you don’t go with the flow…remember, God cares.

When it seems like everyone else your age is having a great time because they drink or smoke pot and they are having sex with their boyfriend or girlfriend and nothing bad has happened to them, don’t give in and say, “Who cares!” Remember to stop and ask yourself, “Who cares?” Remember, God does.

When an innocent person has been betrayed by their husband or their wife and they feel like life isn’t worth living…remember, God cares.

When the weight of life seems so heavy that you can’t breath…remember, God cares.

When it seems like there are more questions than answers and you wish you could just understand it all, don’t give in and say, “Who cares!” Remember to stop and ask yourself, “Who cares?” and remember that God does.

When our bodies break down and bring more pain than pleasure…remember, God cares.

When you grow tired of the hospital bed and just wish you could spend the night at home …remember, God cares.

When you dread going to get the test results, don’t give in and say, “Who cares!” Remember to stop and ask yourself, “Who cares?” Remember that God does.

When the pain from the loss of a loved one hurts so bad…remember, God cares.

When your child refuses to listen to reason and they reject your sound counsel…remember, God cares.

When every day seems worse than the day before…remember, God cares.

When a friend that you thought you could count on lets you down…remember that God cares.

It’s not always easy to remember that someone cares, but God says He does…

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7).

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him…?” (Psalm 8:3,4)

Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)

At the end of the day remember the cross and then ask, “Who cares?”

    1. Thanks. I’m trying to…in a good way. It’s been fun so far. I like to write so this has been a great avenue so far. Share it if you get the chance. I also try to keep good links that other people can follow. Tell everyone hello and we love them for us.

  1. Wow, this is encouraging. Thanks for sharing. Great challenge to think about what we’re saying, even what seems like an insignificant, common phrase. Because there really is an answer to that question and when we deny that, it’s like denying God the opportunity to really comfort us where we’re hurting. Because really, when we say “Who cares?” we are trying to cover up the fact that it hurts.

    1. I’m glad it got you to thinking like it did me when I sat down to write out the things that cause us to say “who cares” whether in frustration or sadness. It’s so easy to do without thinking it through huh?

  2. There is such a simple beauty and power behind your last words here which I appreciate the most, “At the end of the day remember the cross and then ask, Who cares?” Great writing!

  3. Thank You for the reminder, that whatever the circumstance, God cares! In this season, I am grateful for the blessed reassurance that God cares! Excellent message! Thanks! God bless!
