About those Ads

After seeing an ad that appeared on my blog, one sincere and tactful commenter said:

I agree with his article and receive it, and thank the author for posting it. My one concern with the web page is why would you put out this Truth and light into the world and then allow a Mature video game with ungodliness, and foul language to be advertised on your site? Light and darkness can not mix. This to me is a mistake in judgement. I am not against video games or fun, just keep it in perspective while entertaining ourselves with worldliness and unholiness is not wise.

The comment was never “approved” but we did have a private and very agreeable conversation through email. But to be completely honest, the comment has stuck with me ever since it appeared in my “pending” section. So I’d like to say a few things about those ads that appear at the bottom of my posts from time to time, considering the fact that some of you may feel the same way as the above commenter did if you happen to see an untoward or spiritually distasteful advertisement.

1) I can’t actually see the ads when I’m logged in, so I can’t see what you are seeing.

2) I don’t endorse the content or the products that may appear in the ads.

3) I apologize if they are morally offensive or distasteful in any way; please keep in mind that I don’t have any control over them because they are inserted by WordPress and Google due to my blog being hosted free of personal cost by their servers.

I hope this may settle any question concerning an ad, which I myself would disagree with, that you may see here on Keltonburg Preacher.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
