What will we do in exchange?

For us, God, in the form of Jesus of Nazareth:

What will we do in exchange for him? EA

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” (2 Timothy 2:11-13)

Don’t confuse God’s love with God’s salvation

God’s wants no one to be lost – fact!

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

Jesus Christ died for the sins of the entire world – fact!

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” (1 John 2:1-2

God’s motivating factor behind the death of Jesus was salvation through love – fact!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)

Every sinner will go to Heaven after the judgment because of God’s love – false!

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

There are many people in the world who confuse the love of God with the salvation of God. They fail to understand that even God’s love cannot ignore God’s justice, but His love can answer it in a way that we cannot. Nevertheless, God’s love toward us must be accompanied by our love of God’s truth, God’s people, God’s way and God’s Son (2 Thessalonians 2:10; John 8:32; 1 Peter 2:17; John 15:14; 1 Corinthians 16:22).

The benefit of God’s love is salvation, but the benefit of salvation is only found in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). EA

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

If you’re looking for a reason…

If you’re looking for a reason to disbelieve in Jesus, any reason will do.

If you’re looking for a reason to leave the church, any reason will do.

If you’re looking for a reason to talk bad about your brother or sister in Christ, any reason will do.

If you’re looking for a reason to not do what’s right, any reason will do.

But if you’re looking for a reason to keep the faith, to serve the church, to overlook shortcomings and to follow after the righteousness of God – only one reason will do (John 14:15). EA

The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23)
