It’s the principal of the matter

To most people, many things in life come down to the principle of the matter, and while that is fine and well, as long as the principle is a guideline worthy of imitation, to the Christian there are many things that come down to the principal of the matter – namely, doing what we do as a disciple because it is expected by the teacher who is Savior, Teacher and Lord.

So remember, a principle of Christianity may not make sense to the world but it’s because the world doesn’t understand the principal behind the matter (1 Corinthians 1:18-25).

You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.” (John 13:13)

    1. Yeah, amongst many other things that people say they don’t believe in (or stop practicing) because it doesn’t “make sense” to them:

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,” (Ephesians 4:17-22)
